Guys. This wedding is a Tinder success story. And who doesn’t love that? “I fell quickly and hard and could feel it in my waters that this was something that had legs,” explains Anna. She went on to tell the Australian Cricketer that she loved her “after three weeks,” and they started living together at six months. Skip to their big day and some of our go-to vendors were there to bring the talent and the fun! Holymatrimonty officiated the nuptials, The White Tree provided the tunes, Grew & Co did the rings and Studio Something Photography was there to take the pics. Scroll down for all…

THE VENUEThree months out from the date, the [original] venue turned around and tripled the cost of the reception! Clearly this defeated our vision of a low key/ cheap wedding, so we pulled the pin. We then had to frantically go back to the drawing board We secured Ovolo Woolloomooloo for the reception and The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney for the ceremony. Just when we thought we were in the clear, the day before our wedding we went down to scope out our ceremony location to find 300 workman constructing a stage and stand 10 metres from our site. To say that we were panicked is an understatement! After significant difficulty, we changed the site to the opposite side of the gardens were the drilling, banging, trucks and smoko could not be heard! All in all – it’s now a good story and the day was everything we could have wished for!”

FAVE DETAILSWe tried to incorporate a few fun moments in the day, for example: our celebrant, Holymatrimonty, wore cowboy boots, cracked a whip and toasted “yay for gay” to get the ceremony started! Our sister-in-law handed out raffle tickets to every guest upon entry. When it came to the moment for our witnesses to sign the wedding certificate, we drew out two of our guests’ names! Upon calling their number, they had to call out, bingo! A few other touches were, a boat race to decide who’s last name we were going to keep, Erin wore gold hot pants for our first dance (which also included a leap frog in it!), and Gay Time ice creams were handed out on the dance floor for dessert!”

THE DRESSESBoth of our outfits were designed and handmade by our friend Laura Morgan of LC Bridal. Laura was absolutely fantastic! She was flexible, creative and made sure our outfits complimented each other. Could not recommend Laura highly enough. It was such a fun experience!”

LITTLE LOLWe were starving at the end of the night! We ended up at Harry’s Cafe De Wheels eating mushy pea pies and drinking cans of coke. We’re classy like that!”

WE’RE GLAD WE…I’m so glad that we didn’t over involve our family in the planning process. We wanted them to just enjoy the day and it kept the planning streamlined!”

STANDOUT VENDORSSo many amazing people! Ovolo Woolloomooloo were unreal! Considering how last minute we were, they were so onto it for us! Laura from LC Bridal tailored our dream wedding outfits. Our celebrant, Monty, (of Holymatrimonty) was next level! He took so much time to get to know us and really helped set the tone for the day. The team at Grew & Co were amazing with our engagement and wedding rings. Mel from Lamel Weddings was a god send. I don’t know what we would have done without her. Flowers by Bianca Nieske was no fuss and super organised!”
