Having grown up in Mosman, Emma didn’t think twice about booking her and Mark’s wedding at Athol Hall. “Athol Hall is in such a beautiful setting, and the hall is so quaint and offers the perfect blend of indoors and outdoors,” explains the bride, who tells us the celebration was inspired by their European heritage.
“We wanted our wedding day to feel like a family ‘picnic’ gathering. We wanted the tables to be filled with produce, flowers, bread boards with olive oil and jars of pickles. And I love colour so there had to be colour! So I guess you could say we didn’t have a particular theme, but a mish-mash of things that are part of us.”
Sporting a gorgeous Lover the Label number, Emma says that she spotted her dream gown online soon after the engagement and fell in love. “It was the first one I saw, and the first one I tried on, and that’s what I ended up with.”
Despite oodles of DIY (including 120 jars of pickles used as wedding favours), the newlyweds agree that their favourite part of the day was sneaking off in the sunset for some photos with Studio Something Photography. “Studio Something and Phu made us feel so at ease and we just had so much fun, and the photos really show that.”
