Marrying her high school sweetheart of ten years, Emily has many of her amazing vendors to thank for keeping the stress of planning her and her love Nick’s wedding day to a minimum.

“The biggest connection would have to be with Jess our photographer (who recently relaunched as Fontaine). I do not think I have ever met a more professional, warm, talented person,” enthuses Emily.

And when rain started to pour as she was getting ready for the big day, makeup artist Jes O’Brien turned to the bride and said, ‘you would marry him in a thunderstorm regardless, wouldn’t you?’ Emily recounts, “I said yes of course… in the end it’s just you, him and your love; nothing else matters in that moment.”

Emily’s bold Rue De Seine bridal gown purchased at The Bridal Atelier provided most of the inspiration for the theme of their day and set the tone for the whole event. “We wanted our wedding to feel warm; we wanted the day to be fun, emotional and romantic. I had always loved the bohemian style wedding so wanted to merge a rustic warm charm with a boho finish.”

The floristry team at The Wedding Designer helped perfect the atmosphere with white and green florals which was exactly what the bride had in mind.

But when reflecting on a beautiful culmination of a decade spent as lovers and best friends, travelling the world and growing together, the pair agree that having their nearest and dearest witness their official union is what made the day so meaningful. “The best moment is turning to your friends and family after our celebrant announced us as Husband and Wife, and knowing every face looking back at you. That moment is awesome!”

And the second favourite? “Watching my dad stripping down and getting on a friend’s shoulders during our bands rendition of Daryl Braithwaite’s ‘Horses’.” A sure-fire sign of hella good times!
