There’s a lot to love about Danielle and Kaisan’s backyard wedding – from their homemade herbal tea wedding favours to their Chicho Gelato ice-cream cart. Our favourite element however (apart from the fact they had their mum’s as their flower girls and a toilet as their wishing well), would easily have to be the colourful confetti.
“I made my own confetti by cutting up tissue paper into tiny squares. Doing this by hand was time consuming and causing scissor-blisters so I tried to be clever and put the tissue paper in the thermomix. Suffice to say that this didn’t work at all and so continued cutting by hand”, explains Danielle.
Fortunately not everything was DIY – their photographer CJ Williams was a wizard behind the lens while Perth designer Q’nique of Pearls Bridal helped Danielle find her perfect dress. “We tried to use local vendors wherever possible”, says Danielle who succeeded in making their day as carefree and eco-friendly as possible.
