Casey and Sam, together for nearly nine years, recently held their wedding in Cottesloe, WA, and the oh-so talented Emma MacAulay was on hand to capture every glorious moment, from the first look to the beautiful portraits. Though there was no theme, the overall vibe of the day was “whimsical spring garden party,” with their guests encouraged to wear colour. We just loved this couple’s ethos around their wedding planning journey: “We always knew our day would be perfect in its own way, because there was no way it couldn’t be if we were surrounded by and celebrating with our wonderful family and friends.” And that, dear readers, is what it’s all about. Scroll on for more pearls of wisdom from Casey and Sam, and their phenom wedding album, courtesy of Emma MacAulay.
FAVE DETAILS “We both loved how the flowers turned out. Our florist Urban and Wild Co was so patient and dealt with me changing my mind from my initial colour scheme and flower display selection. We had so many emails back and forth to land on our final display, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. We also loved the layout we chose for the ceremony. We loved the greenery of the space, and having the beautiful limestone stairs as the backdrop (instead of the feature) for our ceremony was so picturesque.”
MARRIAGE MEANS “The ultimate commitment to each other and to a life together – even if that means committing to watching endless test cricket on tv or showing patience when your partner changes their mind a million times about what to order at the restaurant (despite studying the menu beforehand).
MEMORABLE MOMENT “It was important to us to acknowledge our family that had passed and weren’t able to join us on our special day. I was fortunate to have my brother and mum walk me down the aisle, in honour of my dad.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Focus on what’s important to you about a wedding. For us, it was having the chance to have all our special people in one place at one time, celebrating our love for each other. It’s easy to get caught up in the small details that feel so important at the time, but ultimately are not what you or anyone else will remember about the day.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographer Emma MacAulay and videographer Blush Films were amazing – the photos and videos from the day are something I know we will both treasure for the rest of our lives and captured the moment so perfectly.”
