Lucky for these guys (and now us!) their fun-filled wedding was the weekend before the COVID-19 restrictions came in and weddings were cancelled. “We feel truly blessed to [have] been able to share our special day with our family and friends and celebrate the way that we did. THE VENUE “Gary had been to a party for Masterchef at Rupert on Rupert and it was a great location with lovely food. Their fantastic coordinator, Mali, was integral. From her recommendations (photographer, DJ and photobooth), to the service, she went above and beyond. She also styled the tables on the day beautifully.”
THE VIBE “Definitely a Touch of Disco.”
FAVE DETAILS “The flowers took my breath away. I didn’t know what to expect as I had encouraged the girls at Pomp & Splendour to let their creative juices run. When the bouquets arrived at the hotel they sparked a few tears – they were simply stunning. [Also], being able to have Basil our French Bulldog as the ring bearer. He’s such a huge part of our life and goes everywhere with us, even to work. To be able to have him there made the day complete. He wore a green velvet bow tie and matching lead.”
THE DRESS “Pallas Couture, was couture in its true sense. The dress was made to order and the design was adapted from their more classical gown designs. It was a true Cinderella moment. I hadn’t tried on any gowns up until that point. I had wanted a cocktail length gown and the bows added a formal element which were detachable for freedom on the dance floor.”
KEY VENDORS “Hello May, of course! And I had worked with Pomp & Splendour before, so I knew how amazing they were. I now had a great excuse to use them again.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Pomp & Splendour were sensational. I gave them a colour palette as a guide and said I would love to see something ethereal, sculptural and suspended. They delivered beyond my expectations – true floral artists. Also, Chantelle Baker – she is such a delight and an amazing make up artist. I didn’t have a make up trial, we had a conversation on the phone and [just] delivered.”
