A Strategic Designer and a Marketing Director based out of Melbourne, Cat and Angus are two creatives who know how to throw one helluva shindig. “I love a bit of arts and crafts, particularly screen printing – hence the tea towels I made as favours! And Angus is a musician, as are lots of our friends. It was always really important to us to have a very personal wedding that represented us, so good food and wine, live music and craft needed to play a part.”
Held at Middle Bright Bath in Melbourne, the theme of the day centred around Australia and the beach with summery colours like teal and yellow and a bit of a vintage feel.
“We had such a hard time trying to figure out the best venue. We looked at places ALL over Victoria. There are so many gorgeous places. We decided we wanted somewhere in or near the city as so many people were already flying in – making them then drive further out felt a bit harsh! We wanted somewhere relaxed, original and interesting,” explains Cat who wore a stunning Elizabeth Avey gown.
“EEK! Elizabeth’s collection is all vintage, one-of-a-kind, amazing dresses. I went along with my Mum and my brother’s girlfriend Dana (both very stylish and honest advisors!) and they both loved the colour and cut of my dress. It felt so special to wear something about 100 years old and that it fitted so well. A real treasure,” she tells us, adding that the team of vendors they hired were pretty incredible as well.
“The photos are absolutely awesome and Sayher Heffernan managed to capture us and our family and friends so naturally and honestly, but with a super cool style too. Megs of Good Grace and Humour was so flexible and willing to work with some pretty vague instructions from me! Her creations were perfect. To be honest, everyone did a great job. We just relaxed and enjoyed the day!”
