Having been together since year 10, Shane finally decided to propose by placing a message inside a bottle for Caitlyn to find on the beach in their home state of Tasmania. After she said yes, their conversations quickly turned to something else beginning with P.
“Pinterest was our saviour”, Caitlyn said, who along with Shane spent two years souring DIY projects off the pages of Pinterest. “We basically made everything ourselves including invitations, programs, pew bows, ceremony doors, bunting, wooden signs, bouquet, table runners, chandelier, bar, bridal table decorations, sweet table decorations, confetti and blackboard signs”. Phew!
At least it was worth every bit of effort for their gorgeous, country wedding. For Caitlyn the beautiful doors at the ceremony and the overall setup of the barn was her favourite detail of the day while for Shane it was the images shot in the evening by one of our fave wedding photographers Mitch Pohl. We have to say that for us it was her bouquet, handmade by Caitlyn’s mum with broaches from parents. grandparents, great and great, great grandparents! We quite like the look of their cake, too!
