Caitlin and Timmy tied the knot by the sea, in the quaint coastal community of Barwon Heads, Victoria. Speaking to the charming waterfront setting and their source of inspiration, the pair said, “[The ocean] is where we both feel happiest and most at peace, so it only felt right to have our wedding reflect that.”
The celebration was sprinkled with chic and sentimental seaside references (like Caitlin’s first surfboard), and the only thing more stunning than the waterfront views was the couple in question. The groom wore M.J. Bale (the first suit he’d tried, in fact) while the bride opted for an Ella Moda frock that she’d long had her eye on, styled with Lolaknight pearls.
Now you know there’s no gatekeeping around here so don’t worry, in addition to the couple’s highlights and happy snaps we’ve got their whole vendor team listed for you below, including of course wedding singer ‘Sung by Jess’ from Paper Hearts and photographer Daisy and Pine, both of which credited among the newlyweds’ standout vendors.
FAVE DETAILS
“Sipping champagne together on the beach from glasses crafted out of shells from Saltist – a perfect start to our celebration. I made a grand entrance to the wedding in a Rolls-Royce, driven by our close friend Hein Otten. I absolutely loved my bridal bouquet, especially how it was centred around a water lily. For dessert, we had a lemon and poppyseed cake filled with tangy lemon curd and covered in buttercream, the soft shade of baby blue, perfectly matching the venue, [At The Heads’] colours and decorated with edible flowers. Lastly, Tim had an aquamarine set into his wedding band to perfectly match mine.”
DIY
“Tim handcrafted the table signs from wood, shaping each one like a surfboard. His uncle Greg then carefully carved in the table names: Flounder, Squidward, and Boo. . . . We chose to name the tables after some of our favourite furry friends. . . . We used Caitlin’s first surfboard, the one she learned to ride on, as a special feature for guests to sign. It was a fun and personal twist on the traditional guestbook. Now, it’s displayed in our home as a reminder of the day and all the loved ones who shared it with us. For our table seating chart, we added a coastal touch by arranging and gluing real oyster shells in the shape of a “C + T”. We designed our place cards in the shapes of a starfish, clam shell, and scallop shell, with each guest’s name printed in the middle.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT
“We loved everything about the day, but notable moments were the ceremony, taking it all in, getting ready with our bridesmaids and groomsmen, spending some time just the two of us down at Thirteenth Beach getting photos with the insane sunset and listening to all the funny and touching speeches.”
A WORD OF ADVICE
“Try to have things pretty much all organised at least 1-2 weeks before the wedding so you aren’t running around like a headless chook the day before. And don’t stress if things don’t go exactly to schedule on the day, you’ll be so caught up in the moment, you probably won’t even notice.”
