This one hit us right in the feels! Just like the bride and groom themselves, Jimmy and Britt’s day was easy-going and so sentimental. They even hand-wrote every. single. guest. a personalised letter in lieu of wedding favours. How sweet is that!?

The duo of six years gathered friends, fam, and Flower Pup Betty to the very same region where Jimmy proposed – NSW’s scenic and sunny Murray River. “We holiday on the river multiple times a year, camp with our friends in the same area, and have our beautiful friends who live up there, so it is very close to our hearts.”

Photographer Ellen May knocked it out of the park and had these newlyweds feeling “like absolute models… Ellen was incredible, she was so friendly and energetic and made us feel so comfortable.” It’s all below!

THE VIBE “We are quite an easy-going couple and just wanted to prioritise good food, having family from all around the country together, and enjoying the beautiful summer weather. Colour was one area I really wanted to have fun with, so [we had] the bridesmaids in different colours, colourful bouquets, and bright coloured signage and table layouts.”

FAVE DETAILS “Our floral arrangement by the team at Seeds and Stem Events and Hire was incredible! We found some inspiration images of a ‘fairy garden’ style at the altar rather than a traditional floral arbour. As we are a shorter couple, I think it suited us really well to have a ground arrangement rather than an arbour above us. It is by far my favourite detail! Our signage by a dear friend, Aimee (Stuck by AME), was all designed and created by her! The bright orange acrylic sign for the ceremony entrance was stunning.”

DIY “The name tags for the table were made on Canva by myself. Due to lots of changes in guests [in] the lead-up, I was relieved that I had decided to do them myself as I had to create more on the morning of the wedding! I am a sentimental person and have been an avid Christmas Card writer since my primary school days, so I made personalised handwritten notes for all guests to open! We also included a ‘scratchy’ and coin in each envelope for the guests to do for some fun! My Mum Sally also tended to all the floral arrangements on the tables- simple glass vases with a variety of different flowers, and the guests were able to take them home at the end of the night!”

MEMORABLE MOMENT “Walking down the aisle and seeing Jimmy’s face was such an incredible feeling. We had spoken about this day for so long, even prior to our engagement! The feeling of pure love, looking out to our guests who had all travelled to celebrate our day with us, was so special. Jimmy has nine siblings who all live in different states, so having them all there together was a truly special moment that might not ever happen again.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Have a maid of honour/ best man who will liaise for you with all the vendors on the day! As a bride who did all the booking, emailing, etc., with the vendors, it is so important to distance yourself from a lot of the extra tidbits on the day so you can focus on your amazing moments with your new husband or wife.”
