Bree and Nick, one of our lovely couples from issue five, made us realise that technology isn’t always evil. The internet became their ally when it came to planning their wedding, after Nic proposed to Bree atop Mt Tambourine after six years together. £A long engagement meant plenty of time to plan and made the whole process pretty relaxed. Nic was away for eight months last year serving with the Australian Defence Force in Afghanistan, which meant a lot of emails and Pinterest boards were used in the making of this wedding. Thank god for the internet!—

Their stunning venue in southeast Queensland was the catalyst in their planning. £It definitely all started when we found Boomerang Farm, which is honestly just the most amazing, serene property and was perfect for what we wanted. So once we had the place set, which set the whole vibe, it was all go, go, go from there.—

While the web helped Bree and Nic plan their wedding, their laidback nature certainly helped things along too, as Bree says they wanted £something that just felt like a big party that we just happen to get married at!— Bree also says that choosing like-minded vendors was key. £We made sure we chose suppliers who were all equally as chilled and of course amazing at what they do. We could not have been happier with all our vendors and how the day panned out.—

Of course it wasn’t just the vendors including photographer Nick Evans who helped them pull together their rustic party for 54, with family and friends (who they call their framily’) busting out their best skills to contribute. Bree’s graphic designer stepdad got working on all the invitations, signage and labels for Bree’s homemade chutney favours, while her stepmum made their decadent dark chocolate mudcake. Bree’s friend Leah made the bridesmaid dresses, while the other women set the tables with blooms from Flower Lovers, and commissioned the pro’s at Elyssium Blooms to create the bridal parties bouquets. Meanwhile Bree’s mum did her make up, her brother set up their photo booth, while an old family friend, Jenn Stephens, married Bree and Nic on the day. £It really was a whole team effort. I am lucky to have so many talented family and friends!— says Bree. £I think it makes the whole event feel so much more personal too when so many people are able to add their own little touches, and really be a part of the day.—

Nic’s first sighting of his blushing bride, as Bree got out of the car in her stunning Josephine Lace Gown from The Babushka Ballerina, was one of their favourite moments of the day. Another was when they realised just how special it was to have their loved ones all in one place. £We were sitting there having dinner, and looking out over all the tables of our most beloved family and friends, all full of so much laughter and joy (and all heartily tucking into the amazing beef brisket and pulled pork from JR Smokehouse Barbecue), we just felt this overwhelming sense of love crammed into that little shed,— says Bree. £It was really special.—
