We have been wanting to share this portrait session with you for so long now! From the second we laid eyes on these beautiful souls we thought they looked just like the kind of human’s we could enjoy a cider with at the pub on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
One of our all time fave Queensland wedding photographers, Shane Shepherd, is the man responsible for taking these candid images of the lovely Jarith and Brandi, who wore a sweet but simple floral crown from our friends at Twig & Grace for the shoot. Shane is a long time supporter of Hello May and we always take great pleasure in sharing his work with you all.
Shane tells us “Jarith was touring as a drummer and if it wasn’t for music, he may not have met one very pretty girl with fiery red hair all the way over in Salt Lake City, Utah. Brandi’s big brother happens to have been the drummer for american band Underoath (and now singer for The Almost), who was one of Jarith’s favourite bands. Long story short, Jarith and Brandi found each other on Underoath’s Instagram and before they knew it were chatting on Skype. A bunch of plane trips sealed the deal and Jarith proposed on a cliff top in Noosa to a girl who lived 7,760 miles away.”
Now that Brandi is back in Australia we hope to share their wedding with you real soon. In the mean time if you would like to see more from Shane be sure to pick up issue five of Hello May magazine, on sale now and stocked in newsagents nationally, and flip it over for a nice surprise! You can search for your nearest stockists by state, suburb or postcode here.
Shane also made a really freaking cool animated gif of our latest issue. Check it out here and marvel at his fancy new logo whilst you’re at it! Better yet, enquire about booking him for your upcoming wedding… he really is the bee’s knees!
