“We were relaxed. Really relaxed. Until about New Year’s Day – when we realised our wedding was this year’ and only about six weeks away. We scrambled for the next six weeks!” says Beth who’d spent much of her time at Scanlan Theodore. “She had been popping into Scanlan Theodore and trying on the’ dress? probably 12 times before making the final decision”, says Luke.
“It’s a strapless number – slim at the waist with a scalloped hem, made with beautiful German lace”, interrupts Beth who, despite her indecision, managed to round up a team of rad vendors just in time. Photographer Shane Shepherd and Nicole and Tristan of Fleurieu Bites went above and beyond make Beth and Luke’s day, held at Brooklyn Farm in South Australia, one they would never forget.
“We’re so glad we went with our first instincts to have our wedding at Brooklyn Farm. Not everyone agreed with our decision or could see our vision until it all came together. It was a lot of work – probably a lot more than we anticipated – but completely worth it”, says Beth who had her entire family on hand to make games, bunting, blackboard signs, lawn games and tulle puff balls.
Without giving it a second thought, they both agree that the ceremony was the most memorable part of their day.”Especially our vows. With guidance from our celebrant Michael, we crafted our own vows. The end result was beautiful and so us’, and meant a lot. It was a wonderful opportunity to stop and reflect on each other and our relationship, and the joy it keeps giving to both of us.”
