Ashlee and Chris were so keen to celebrate their love that a one-day wedding just wouldn’t do. Cue their weekend-long wedfest celebration. With their very own wedding, events and glamping business, Under The Moon Elopements, these guys were well equipped when it came to pulling it all off. Despite the fact that Ashlee signed the marriage certificate in the wrong spot and the couple’s guests ate their doughnut table (aka wedding cake) before they even arrived, good times were still abundant. Scroll down to take a peep, as captured by Canberra based lens-woman Lauren Campbell

LITTLE LOL “In the two days leading up to our wedding I cried off and on quite a bit, realising how much we had to do and how little time we had. I was up to my knees in cow shit and mud the day prior sobbing, ‘I’m not even a Bride. Brides shouldn’t have to do this before their wedding day’.”

THE VENUE “Honestly, we never gave a second thought to the venue. It was always going to be somewhere near and dear to both of us. Chris’ family have a special place in the mountains with a beautiful rustic bark-style hut and a log cabin built by his Dad on a secluded 40 acres. Tucked away between towering mountains and the Thomson Dam, Chris has always spent his free time escaping up there for weekend getaways and couldn’t wait to share it with me. I fell in love with it at first sight.”

DIY “I had been hitting up the op shops collecting different style frames for quite some time. The frames were filled with our parents’, grandparents’ and great grandparents’ wedding days and family who were no longer with us.”

THE DRESS “I designed my dress myself around 5 years ago (as you do before you are even engaged -that’s normal right?). The lovely ladies at D’Italia helped me pick my fabric and bring the dress to life. My dressmaker was Eva, she was just incredible throughout the whole process. I didn’t try any dresses on as I knew I wouldn’t find anything I absolutely loved as I did in every aspect of my dress.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “A band is a must! It absolutely makes the day/night. Our band, Sweet Lip, were fantastic and all our guests raved about them. Our guests were on the dance floor from as soon as the reception started till 3 am.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Definitely a big shout out to photographer Lauren Campbell. Lauren just made us feel so comfortable and natural the whole day. The photos really captured who we are, what the day was about and managed to get Chris not looking awkward. Also, a special mention to our incredible videographer Pep from Ice Cream Sandwich Films who just captured the whole essence of the day perfectly and made the extra effort to check out the venue beforehand.”
