There were a number of things that made Arna and Nick’s day so special, including having their dog Rusty as their ring bearer. Without a doubt however, it was their vendors who took their hopes and dreams of a fairytale wedding to another level. “The amazing Khya and her team at One Day Bridal did an amazing job with my wedding dress. Khya is so lovely and down to earth. I can’t sing her praises enough!” says Arna.
“All the staff and owners at Mavis’s Kitchen were also so amazing to work with. Nothing was too hard for them and they did an amazing job making our wedding cake! Bek, Phil and Tammie from Heart and Colour also did a fabulous job. They exceeded our expectations on the day and the photos we have we’ll cherish forever.”
Wanting to create a relaxed day, Arna did her best to keep things simple – their ceremony and reception were held in the same space, and accommodation was an option for any guests reluctant to leave. It was inevitable however, that she would end up dipping her toes in some DIY. “We did so many things ourselves!” says Arna who first designed their invitations before moving on to their handmade soy candles, ‘selfie’ photo booth, seating chart and playlist and finally, their impressive floral arch.
Their smooth dance moves, which they’d been practicing for some time, certainly would have impressed a few friends and family too. “I’m so glad we had some dance lessons before the wedding. Planning a wedding can be so busy so that was a really lovely thing to do together. I loved dancing around the lounge room, just the two of us!”
