Lovers of the outdoors (and each other), Annie and Steve ventured to Bald Rock at Girraween National Park one Saturday afternoon to catch the amazing 360 degree views of the landscape, ending in one super exciting surprise. “Steve popped the question at the top of the rock, with no one around but us and the amazing views! I was completely overjoyed; it was such a beautiful moment and in the perfect setting for us.”
Channeling their love of nature, the couple hoped to tie the know amongst beautiful scenery – so Annie’s parent’s property in Samford Valley was the ideal choice. “As most couples do I’m sure, we wanted our wedding to reflect us. We wanted our wedding to be like a relaxed party with all our close friends. Visually we were going for a rustic, garden vibe, which suited the venue to a tee. We also wanted our wedding to be about working together with our friends and family and utilising resources that were already available to us,” explains the bride, who adds that she and Steve opted for a day that was as eco-friendly as possible.
“when purchasing materials for the wedding, I choose products that could be recycled or reused or were made from recycled material. For example, the envelopes I bought were made from 100% recycled paper and the cups for the Chai made from recyclable products,” says Annie, who scouted vendors like Hello May fave EV Hair and Makeup, Arctic Fox Furniture Hire and Styling and Jazzy Connors Photography to help pull off their celebration of love.
“Jazzy our photographer was another stand out, she was so supportive, happy and relaxed through the whole process. Jazzy arranged to meet up with us prior to the wedding to get to know us and find out what we were aiming to create for our wedding day. We have had many compliments about Jazzy’s photos, they are just amazing! She is incredibly talented!”
With their crew of suppliers and a tonne of talented friends and family, Annie and Steve pulled off the day of their dreams and are now enjoying the ‘married life’ – which they agree means “Joining with that one person that lights you up in every way, growing as a team and knowing that you want to share every adventure that life has in store with them. Even when it gets tough, you want to work though it, because they are worth it, you and them together as a team are worth it!”
