On a trip to BluesFest with their friends, Nick suggested he and Annie take a morning walk to the Byron Bay lighthouse to catch the sunrise. “We arrive a seat along the track and Nick suggested he lead me through mediation. Half way through the mediation, nick asked me to open my eyes and behold, he was there on his knee, pulling out a ring that was dangling off a necklace he was wearing.”
From the beginning they knew they wanted love to be the theme of their wedding, Nick mentioning it’s not often you get to have your nearest and dearest together all at once. “We wanted our wedding to be true to everything we believed in and where we wanted our life to go.” The pair enlisted Andrea from All Grown Up Weddings to capture their special day, “Andrea is the funniest and most adorable wedding photographer. Her pictures blew us away.”
Set amongst the rolling hills of Berry in NSW, the couple were lucky enough to have Nick’s parents property at their disposal. “Every since the first time I was invited to the family trips away I just knew (if I was a lucky enough gal) that I wanted to walk the amazing maple treeline on my wedding day.”
Nick mentions some of his favourite memories of the day, “There are a few I can’t mention? Or it may be a short marriage! But Id say the Boys (Groomsmen) performance was hilarious and totally unexpected. It was like one of those moments from an American film where everyone is clapping, smiling and laughing. total cliche, but actually really spontaneous and genuine on the day.”
Annie and Nick agreed that the cherry on top of their day was their coordinator Jessica from Plan Sweet Events. “(A coordinator for the day) was defiantly worth the extra money, things still went wrong but we didn’t have to worry and we had someone to rally everyone together to make sure we didn’t have to know? Until after!”
