“A total fruit salad of styles” – that’s how Anna and Paul affectionately describe their Byron Bay wedding day. “Over-the-top garden party” mixed with “enchanted forest with a hint of disco. It sounds a bit bizarre,” they laugh, “but we’re so happy with how it turned out!” As they should be! Just get a load of these seriously good snaps from Tropical Romance & Co (who also captured the occasion on video).
To state what we’re all thinking: these two look a million bucks (and we’re thrilled to see Lolaknight gracing the bride’s earlobes – we’d recognise those pearl pretties anywhere!). We’re also head over heels for this starlit alfresco situation! Do yourself a favour, guys, and get scrolling – so many details to inspire as well wise words from these two lovers to help you on your planning journey…
THE VENUE “We always loved the idea of a Byron Bay wedding. We road tripped up for the Byron Bay Weddings venue open day and visited as many venues as we could in he time we had. We actually had our hearts set on a different venue, but after staff at the open day recommended The Orchard Estate, we decided to squeeze in a visit. We’re so glad we did because we were both instantly obsessed as soon as we entered the grounds. The rows of macadamia trees are enchanting and the views from the lawn are breathtaking. We knew the venue was the perfect fit for us.”
FAVE DETAILS “The flowers courtesy of Pikt Flowers were unbelievable, especially the bouquets! We literally carted as many flowers as we could with us for the next week back down the coast. The food from Fig Tree Restaurant was exceptional! Anna’s vegetarian brother even tried some of the beef because everyone was raving about how good it was! We had personalised coasters as place holders which were designed by our amazing friend at Two Sistahs Designs and they turned out so gorgeous. We could carry on all day about all the things we loved.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Choose vendors who you really vibe with. It makes planning a breeze and it feels like having bonus guests on the wedding day. We also kept planning fairly stress free by setting time aside regularly, pouring a glass of wine, and seeing it as quality time together rather than a chore.”
LITTLE LOL “I unknowingly stood on a bull ant hill during family portraits. I didn’t realise until I felt them stinging my feet. I very quickly had about 12 people under my skirt trying to brush them off all the layers of tulle which was no easy task. The bites were a bitter sweet reminder of the big day for the next week.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photography/videography team – Konrad, Olly, and Marina of Tropical Romance & Co. We felt like they really put in the work to get to know us and understand our vision during the planning process and they brought such unbelievable energy to the day. We’ll never forget them and the part they played in the best day of our lives.”
