Someone pinch us; is Angie and Will’s Ibiza wedding bash even real?! Yep, you read that right. Postcard-perfect Ibiza was where these two became hubs and wife, backdropped by the majestic Mediterranean ocean. An enchanting location, and sentimental too for this bride who grew up in nearby Barcelona before moving to Australia where she met Will. “Ibiza seemed like the perfect choice to bring people from opposite sides of the world. We loved spending time together on this magical island.”
That word: ‘magic’ understandably continued to arise as the newlyweds painted us a picture of their day. Artfully captured by Ana Marina Sanz, it commenced in a charming whitewash church and continued with a night of feasting and frolicking under the stars. The only thing more beautiful than the view? The party themselves, with our happy couple looking positively regal and guests in their finest black-tie get-up. THE VENUE “Ibiza is a place I hold very close to my heart. Having grown up in Barcelona, I would often visit the island as it is only a short 30-minute flight away. Everyone made a holiday out of it, which was fabulous. I first saw the incredible venue when riding a jet ski in Ibiza with my father. We saw it from the water and were like, ‘Wow! What a fantastic place.’ Funny how life works out that. a few years later, William and I picked that spot to get married.”
THE VIBE “We wanted to honour and reflect the Spanish culture and wanted some traditional elements to our wedding day, which is why we decided to get married in a beautiful whitewashed church overlooking the ocean. However, we also wanted our wedding to have a sophisticated and elegant feel to it, so we chose 7 Pines – an incredible 5-star resort with unmatched views of Es Verda – for our reception [and stayed] there for over a week with all our guests. We both really appreciate a good view and wanted to be as close as possible to the water. We decided on a black-tie dress code as we wanted the wedding to have an elevated and classy feel. Everyone looked stunning.”
LITTLE LOL “When I first touched down in Ibiza, I quickly realised that the airline had lost all our bags. Fair to say I had a heart attack, but it reaffirmed in my decision to carry my dress as carry-on. Easier said than done, though, as the dress weighed close to 7kg, owing largely to the 3.5m long train.”
FAVE DETAILS “The flowers were gorgeous and matched the aesthetic perfectly. I really enjoyed the fairylights, which created a magical atmosphere and throughout our dinner under the open sky. [Also], the view from the church and the church itself. Overall, seeing the space come together and all set up was pure magic!”
