Soulmates of seven years, Amy and Sean, held their wedding in Noosa on Queensland’s sunny coast – a spot the duo have “always loved” and where Sean popped the question.
We’ve gotta say, these healthcare heroes were a sight for sore eyes. Despite it being the first she’d tried on, Amy instantly knew her Karen Willis Holmes frock was the one, and Sean sported the most epic green custom ‘fit styled with an M.J. Bale button down. It was elegant, classy, and relaxed, and the lovebirds told us that getting ready alongside family was a highlight. As was stealing some time alone while photographer Janneke Storm did her thing. “Janneke does a really good job of making you feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera.”
You can say that again, and the proof is in the pudding (or should we say pics?). Scroll on to admire the Noosa wedding album and read our chat with the new hubs and wife.
THE VENUE “We originally looked at property weddings in the Noosa hinterland, but the cost and logistics of bringing in every single vendor and the lack of nearby accommodation for our guests ruled that out. When we saw the Noosa Waterfront Restaurant, we were super happy with it.”
THE DRESS “I found my dress at Karen Willis Holmes in Paddington. It was the first store and wedding dress I tried on. I had seen the dress on real brides online and fell in love with the classy look and aesthetic. I cried first time trying it on with my mum and sister with me and knew straightaway it was the dress I wanted.”
THE SUIT “I originally looked in generic stores but did not like the aesthetic at all and wanted something unique and special. Urbbanna in Brisbane was amazing throughout the whole process. Very detail-orientated down to the buttons of choice, and were great communicators throughout the making process which occurs overseas.”
COOL CUSTOM “We had a sand ceremony, mixing sand from Ireland and South Africa, where we are both from. Amy has always had a collection of sand from places visited.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Having a small number of guests was really special because it gave us the opportunity to spend some time with all of them on the day rather than rushing to say hello briefly to everyone.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “…Didn’t have a wedding party. It gave us more time with our family and the opportunity to [spend] time alone when taking location photos. It allowed our close friends and family to really enjoy the day. Wouldn’t change anything.”
