Walking down the aisle to Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley in a gorgeous old church and then dining under the oak trees of an epic winery (lit by fairy lights, no less), makes for one heck of a wedding, right? RIGHT. We love the bride’s simple and oh-so-chic gown and the groom’s decision to wear a suit he already owned! Their bridal party was dressed in none other than Friend of Audrey and M.J. Bale and their words of advice are short and sweet, but we couldn’t agree more. So scroll down for all – and let’s not forget the pics to peruse by

THE VENUE “It was an easy decision to have our reception at Brown Brothers. The place holds lots of special memories for my family and we had been to a few events at the winery over the years, so we knew we would be in great hands. However, we were keen to find a point of difference for our wedding.  We came up with the idea of having the entire reception outside in the gardens. It was something that hadn’t been done before, but Brown Brothers took on the challenge with such enthusiasm – it made for a spectacular evening.”

DIY “Having a wedding so close to Christmas, we tried to keep the DIY projects to a minimum. However, my aunties did an incredible job of putting together the floral arrangements for the church (including the pews) and my mum hand made confetti cones.”

THE DRESS “My dress was from Amaline Vitale. I knew I wanted something classic and elegant, which wasn’t beholden to trends. It was one of the first dresses I tried on, and while I tried on many, I always came back to this one.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “You should only have one job on the day – to show up and have a good time. Outsource everything else, so that you can relax and enjoy the day.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Were able to have a garden reception. An outdoor wedding is not for the faint-hearted (I don’t think we’ve ever refreshed the BOM app as many times as we did in the week before the wedding) but once the sun went down and the cool breeze came out, it really made for the most incredible evening with our closest family and friends.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographer, Tess Follett was absolutely incredible, she made us feel at ease and is incredibly talented at her craft. We were also absolutely blown away by Katie from Poppy Emporium, who did the most incredible job with the flowers. We originally planned to do the flowers ourselves, but we’re so incredibly grateful that Katie agreed to take on our wedding at the last minute, just before Christmas. Last but not least, we could not recommend Brown Brothers more highly.”
