“Marriage means getting to lock your best friend in for life.” Too true. And this loved-up couple did it in serious style. From the timing (the day before NYE, no less) to the festival vibes, guests glamping, the scenery and that ceremony spot, we can’t get enough. Hawkes Bay turned it on for their day and we are here for this epic wedding, guys. Meredith Lord Photography was the lovely lens lady behind the camera and you can scroll down for all her gorgeous shots as well as our chat with the happy couple…

THE VENUEThe vendors and the venue were amazing. Emma & Colin (from Meadowood House) were so helpful and so kind from the start to the day after. We really wanted a teepee marquee and Meadowood House had it all, the beautiful greenery surrounding the property, the art deco themed house brings true representation our home town and the glamping tents for guests to stay. It was perfect!”

THE INSPO “Festival, boho vibe. We were able to stay on-site for three days and had our wedding the day before New Year’s Eve so the celebrations could continue.”

FAVE DETAILS “The bridesmaids and groomsmen together – their colours looked incredible and really suited the whole venue and all the amazing greenery we were surrounded by. Furniture – we hired Persian rugs, boho style loungers and cushions, it really suited the relaxed vibe and huge green space we had to work with in front of the teepee marquee. The cake, AKA the cheese wheel cake from Whitestone Cheese. We love cheese, and this was a real highlight, double cream Brie, Havarti, blue, it was a dream!”

THE DRSES “The dress was one of my favourite parts of the organising process. I came across Kenny & Harlow who were able to put together every aspect of certain dresses I had tried on and loved. I always wanted a low back, a silk tie detail, and a ‘V’ front with a mild and not too dramatic train.”

MEMORABLE MOMENTSThe first look was certainly a highlight. Meredith Lord Photography being the legend she is, captured all the amazing shots – hair all over the place never looked so good. The aisle was also a highlight – all the emotions of our aisle song and walking with my dad made it real. And overall, getting to have all our favourite people in one place and the speeches – we were all crying in hysterics, one regret was not having a videographer to capture it.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographer Meredith Lord Photography – she made the whole process so fun! Our caravan bar Mister Murdoch – these guys are such an epic couple, who were absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of Espresso Martinis they had to produce in such a short period of time  but handled it like champs, I think they still have sore arms!”
