It’s not often you read a story that goes from a Tinder date, to a wedding atop a mountain, but the coming together of Alice and Ryan reads just so.
On a romantic evening out to dinner, Ryan secretly sweated out his nervousness as the couple enjoyed a lovely meal, you see, he was planning to propose! Alice tells us, “he got so nervous that he didn’t end up asking me in the restaurant, but rather, on the couch at home in the apartment, watching Survivor!”
Having visited Pearls & Roses Bridal in Geelong, Alice knew she wanted a handmade gown. With the help of the boutique owner and gown designer, Karen, Alice’s gown turned out perfectly, the bride gushes. “It was so comfortable, easy to move and walk in. I love that Karen only makes a few dresses in each material, so the chances of having an original material is high.”
When it came to picking a location for their big day, Ryan had a special spot in mind. Having both lived on Mt Hotham, the pair decided the incredibly scenic location would be the perfect spot to celebrate their nuptials with their loved ones, (and man did wedding photographer Daniel Brannan do an awesome job of capturing the stunning landscape!)
Unfortunately two of Alice’s good friends couldn’t make it to the wedding, however the bride tells us there was a rather touching moment where she still had the opportunity to see and speak with her pals. When a guest Facetimed her two friends so that they could watch the entire ceremony live, Alice said she broke down in tears when she got to chat with them, “Dan took a beautiful photo of me with my hand on my heart, crying and talking to them via FaceTime.”
Alice mentions that many of their vendors were from Geelong, which she says felt like a little slice of home was coming up the mountain with them, and man did they create a stunner of a wedding!
