ALANA & BRAD’S SOUTH COAST WEDDING

As a wedding photographer herself, there’s no doubt that Alana (of Alana Taylor Photography) had a one up when organising her wedding day. Utilising her contacts from the industry, Alana and Bradley trusted their vendors with complete creative control, crediting this as “100% the best thing we did for the day.” And that they did, leaving it to a few darn good directory vendors (and friends) of Hello May, Red Berry Photography, planner, stylist and florist, My Little Peony and South Coast Party Hire, to name a few!

THE VENUE “Being a wedding photographer I have been to many wedding venues, and about a year before our wedding I visited Spring Grove Dairy Kangaroo Valley for a styled shoot and immediately fell in love. Both Bradley and I are super relaxed and quite private people so we really wanted a venue that matched us as people, and Spring Grove Dairy was beyond perfect.

THE VIBE “I had been chatting to Tegan from My Little Peony
for a while and described to her what I imagined our day to be like- intimate, relaxed, a little bit opulent, but totally romantic. Tegan then pieced together every little detail, including the two colours I said we loved (maroon/burgundy and mustard) and created the ultimate wedding theme for us. She went above and beyond and completely nailed everything.”

FAVOURITE DETAIL “My personalised jacket. I have never been a super girly girl, and barely ever wear dresses. I knew I wanted to wear a dress on our day, but wanted to feel a little more like myself, and had my talented friend Gillian from The Marker hand paint my favourite leather jacket to match my R.M. Williams boots. Also, for our first song, our musician Joe Mungovan learnt and did the most AMAZING cover of INXS ‘Never tear us apart’. This is such a special song for Bradley and I and we both love the original, but now long Joe’s version, so much more.”

THE DRESS “I collect vintage wedding gowns from all eras, and really wanted to incorporate my love for them somehow. So what better way than that?”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Trust your vendors. They are amazing at what they do, and you obviously picked them because you love what they do. Give them the creative space to be able to create something with their style and flare, and you will never be disappointed.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “A special mention to the amazing team at My Little Peony. Tegan and the gang did such an amazing job at creating the atmosphere, colour scheme and organised other aspects including our cake and beautiful signage. They created the perfect concept and just had a ‘yes we can do it’ attitude. Also, Chris, from Red Berry Photography. We honestly could not be any happier. Chris nailed it, and we are so happy we got to have him as part of our day. He fit in so well with everyone, and captured the most beautiful moments between Bradley and I and all our beautiful friends and family.
