Offering betrothed couples a fresh take on spring-time wedding style, this shoot puts blue centre stage. With a harmonious balance of whimsy and sophistication, it’s the definition of dreamy—we feel as though we’ve been invited into a whole new world.

“For this editorial, we embraced blue as the narrative thread, translating the season’s defining hue into every layer of the story,” shares stylist Eliska from Ruffles and Bells. “Chalky blues, muted textures, and warm brown tones were carefully chosen in fabrics, draping, and silhouettes to evoke both sophistication and romance, while silver accents added a subtle modern shine.”

“The collaboration for this editorial was incredibly organic, with every element—wardrobe, styling, florals, and set design—developed in close dialogue with the location and each other,” adds Eliska. That location? The Jackson Ranch—a NSW, South Coast haven. And behind the camera? That would be Kyle Ingram, whose work is recognisable for its editorial style.

Prep your Pinterest board—there’s inspiration ahead and a conversation with the creatives behind this blue-tinted beauty.

Creating the Look – Texture, Tone and Modern Romance

You can trust the planners and stylists at Melbourne’s Ruffles and Bells to deliver distinctly romantic and refined events every time. One of our top planners/stylists for 2025, their thoughtful approach and next-level aesthetics never fail to make us swoon, and this shoot is no exception.

Here, while blue may be the star of the show, Ruffles and Bells stylist Eliska explains that texture was an important supporting character too. “We were inspired by the trend of combining structured tailoring with soft, flowing textures, as well as the growing focus on muted, natural palettes punctuated with subtle metallics like silver and of course, the beautiful punch of blue.”

Overall, it was about creating something that felt both “intimate and cinematic”. “A curved table layout encouraged intimacy and movement, adorned with sculptural florals and tactile materials like woven rattan, blending elegance with organic warmth,” Eliska explains. The scene reflected the welcoming spirit of Jackson Ranch while celebrating how sophistication and artistry can be seamlessly painted into a natural setting at its finest.”

Editorial Wedding Photography by Kyle Ingram

Kyle Ingram captures real loved-up moments through an editorial lens, heavily influenced by his days in fashion photography. We’re positively enamoured and could pore over his portfolio for hours (…we may have done already). We challenged Kyle to pinpoint a favourite moment from this shoot. “The ceremony location was a standout for me, it’s such a stunning setting, with the blue backdrop framing the moment beautifully,” he shared. Kyle had plenty of praise for The Jackson Ranch too, describing it as “a luxury venue that doesn’t try too hard”. “That aligns perfectly with my style,” he shares. “I like to keep my images minimal, candid, and timeless. The ranch’s manicured lawns and newly built locations are great to photograph.”

South Coast Wedding Venue Spotlight – The Jackson Ranch

Effortless yet easy-going elegance set against raw natural beauty – this shoot feels right at home at The Jackson Ranch (one of our fave coastal places to get hitched). It’s not too far from the city (a 3.5hr drive from Sydney; 2hrs from Canberra), which is definitely appealing. But it’s the versatility of this venue that continues to capture our hearts. Think leafy canopies, lake glimpses, moody rainforest moments and the coastline not far away. “The Jackson Ranch feels like a secluded luxury retreat, tucked away from Sydney’s usual hustle and bustle,” says Kyle. “It’s calm and quiet, a place that invites you to slow down, whilst still having a high-end feel.”

Styling Insights and Colourful Wedding Inspiration

Looking for relaxed-yet-refined wedding styling ideas? Or maybe you’re wondering how to incorporate colour in an elevated way? Well, this collaboration is rich with lessons:

    •    Having an elegant aesthetic doesn’t mean you’re required to stick to neutrals. This is your sign to consider colour.

    •    As Eliska points out, texture is a powerful tool that impacts the feel of a space. When saving pics to your moodboard, pay close attention to not just the colours, but the textures too.

    •    Styling shines brightest when it harmonises with its surroundings. Seek out examples shot at your venue or ones with a similar feel. And if you’re drawn to images from different venue styles, think about how those details might translate to your own location.

    •    Or, leave it to the pros. Great stylists, planners and photographers (like Ruffles and Bells and Kyle Ingram) are WILDLY talented, a huge asset to your planning experience, and, in our opinion, artists.
