GUYS. Guys. Guys. And gals, too, of course! Y’all need to rejoice as our friends over at M.J. Bale have released a brand spanking new collection for Autumn (on sale now) and it’s delish. Titled Tailored by Nature, it is just that – quality tailoring using natural fibres with a strong sustainability standpoint. And as on-trend as they come. Nay, setting the trends, we say! But don’t just take our word for it. Listen to the experts themselves… “The collection is inspired by the natural beauty of rural Australia. Rich autumnal tones and patterns draw from the deep colours of Australia’s landscapes and shades of the Southern sky.”

The epic materials adapt to different climates without worry and are lightweight and breathable, making them a delight to not only look at, but wear. You’ll find “merino wool suits, blazers, tuxedoes and ties from the conservationist Kingston farm in the northern Tasmanian Midlands. Kingston is also the site for M.J. Bale’s world-first 300-day farm trial to produce Carbon Neutral Wool, a collaboration with sustainable Tasmanian seaweed producer, Sea Forest.” And “five styles of knits – turtlenecks, cardigans, crew-necks, V-necks and long-sleeve polos [that have been] crafted from extra-fine Merino wool produced entirely at the fifth-generation Ashby farm in the nearby Midlands.”

Speaking of carbon-neutral, the Aussie-owned brand is doing some serious things in the world of sustainability, and not only does that matter to us here at Hello May, but we know it matters to all our couples (brides and grooms, alike) too. To be more specific (and make sure we are calling out their phenom initiatives), we asked them to update us on that, too. “M.J. Bale ramps up its preparations to become 100% carbon neutral by the end of this year.” See guys. We don’t use PHENOM lightly! Of the new collection, they add, “Tailored by Nature is composed of a brand milestone 98.5% natural fibres (Merino wool, cashmere, cotton, linen and silk) and aligns M.J. Bale’s long-standing sourcing expertise at the farm level in Australia. It is the result of carefully curated relationships with some of Australia’s most ethical farmers, who produce a sustainable but elite fibre in harmony with the natural environment.”

So what does it include in terms of shape and style? “Evolving with the needs of the modern Australian man M.J. Bale has expanded its offering to include smarter casual pieces that can be dressed up or down depending on the formality and scale of the occasion. Deconstructed tailored jackets are designed to be dressed down with a t-shirt and chinos for more casual weddings or dressed up with matching trousers and a suit and tie for more formal affairs. Suits woven from versatile blends of wool, cotton, and linen, are able to be worn separately or together, to complete the look.”

For the dapper, you’ll find “Seasonal highlights [that] include 1930s- inspired three-piece suits with double-breasted waistcoats, light grey suits in pink oversized windowpane checks and a cherry-red coloured limited-edition suit in wool-silk-linen cloth.” And colour-wise, expect “rich velvet blazers in burgundy, navy and forest green.” Get a load of the cherry suit people. Trust us, it’s perfection.

There are also some cool (and quality) athleisure pieces weaved throughout this collection, so don’t go thinking your weekend wear game in the lead up to the wedding needs to be anything other than stylish to boot!
