Established in 2005, luxury label designer George Wu is known for his impeccable attention-to-detail and intricate hand couture finishing techniques. Personally involved in the entire creative process of each gown’s creation, Wu works closely with design conception, pattern cutting, sewing, finishing and fitting to ensure each bespoke piece is a work of art.
His 2016 collection was inspired by the power, beauty and grandeur of the historic Roman Empire’s philosophy and influence. A sartorial feast of effortless silhouettes and opulent textures, this luxurious range combines customary couture finishes with a contemporary aesthetic.
Featuring mirrored patterns, symmetrical lace details and delicate lattices reminiscent of the art, architectural designs and niceties of ancient Rome, this collection explores the relationship, textures and intricate detailing’s of rich laces and fabrics, creating a couture collection of art works.
The collection is now available at George Wu’s Brisbane studio by appointment only.
