Sarah-Jayne and Ryan’s wedding was the kind of party we can get behind. With colour and sparkle being their theme (#sparkleinDHouse – a combo of their last names), a throwback to their Tinder meeting days and two confetti filled piûñatas?! These guys know how to throw one hell of a fiesta!
Knowing they wanted a laid back ceremony and reception, the pair settled on the Kirra Hill Community Centre, a place SJ has always loved. “We wanted a space that captured the beauty of the ocean and allowed guests to relax,” Kirra Hill being just that!
During their ceremony Ryan sneakily took the opportunity to remind everyone of how the pair met, SJ adding, “Ry even had sign props from our days of meeting on Tinder! Funnily enough he had to download the app again and trawl our conversations and go through each of our profiles.”
The couple more or less created all their decorations themselves or with friends, including that awesome foil curtain arbour, we’re even considering one for the office!
As far as wedding garb went, SJ opted for a custom made pant and top combo from the talented designer Howard Cooper, based in Melbourne’s CBD. “Howard did an incredible job and truly brought the exact vision I had in my head, to life! Everyone commented how 100% SJ the outfit was so happy it was a one off for me.”
For their sparkly, colourful day Ryan wore a lungi, which is an Indian sarong however isn’t traditional wedding wear, as SJ explains, “he just loves wearing them and wanted to be comfy!”
The talented duo behind Lover of Mine were there to capture all the fun, including multiple confetti showers and dance moves.
