On the eve of their three year anniversary, Taylor organised 20 of their nearest and dearest to surprise Shannon in what would be a rather heartfelt proposal…The groom to be did his best to hide the surprise dinner (including spying two of Shannon’s close friends running late to the restaurant and distracting his unsuspecting girlfriend so she wouldn’t see); and organising a close friend to make “Will You Marry Me” cupcakes.

Shannon explains the rest, “After hugging everyone hello and then seeing the cupcakes I turned around to see Taylor on one knee with the most gorgeous ring. Lots of happy-tears all around and a big, big Yes from me!”

When it came to the venue, the duo discovered the gorgeous grounds of Bendooley Estate after their original venue fell through. “We went and took one look at Bendooley and decided we didn’t need to see any other venues. There was a magic about the place, something special in the air,” Shannon said, adding that she first spied her dream gown by Made With Love at the One Fine Day Fair.

Shannon instantly fell in love with the frock, telling us, “I went to Savvy Brides with Mum a little while later, tried the Frankie on (no pockets, no rushing) and immediately pictured myself on the day of the wedding dancing with Taylor in this dress. The train was beautiful beyond belief, and the dress was mega comfy (again perfect for dancing)!”

A day that was brimming with good times, it’s no wonder that Shannon and Taylor hired a heap of awesome vendors including Way Up High Films and, of course, Hello May fave Scott Surplice. “Scott was the most brilliant photographer, making us all feel so at ease and the photos are more incredible than we could ever have imagined.”
