Natalie and Madison aren’t the kind of couple to beat around the bush. “We weren’t afraid to go against tradition if we felt it didn’t fit with what we were trying to achieve”, Natalie says matter-of-factly, explaining that they went about their ceremony at Centennial Park a little bit differently. “We got married in the middle of a circle with our guests around us – which were about 150 or so. Mad’s step-mother Irene, who ran the ceremony, gave some words of wisdom and we had readings from his stepsisters and my Nanna.”
Photographed by Lisa and Pete of And A Day, Natalie and Madison’s day was overflowing with beautiful streamers and brightly coloured bouquets by Jardine Botanic Floral Styling (whose amazing work can also be seen in issue seven of Hello May, on sale now!)
“Green, fresh, celebratory” was what we were going for says Natalie who wore a stunning, crisp white gown by Carla Zampatti. Their reception was held inside The Grounds of Alexandria – a charming and intimate venue that beyond their watermelon and apricot coloured decorations and DIY wedding favours, needed nothing more than an epic cheese cake by Formaggi Ocello to complete their dream day.
