During a wintery weekend, Liana and Nath decided to get out of the city and book what they thought was just a last minute getaway to the Yarra Valley. When they arrived it was about 10 degrees and pouring rain and there was little to do but to jump in the warm spa that overlooked the valley.
“So there we were drinking ciders with our music pumping in a gorgeous hotel room when? Nath presented me with a ring box. All I remember was how hard his heart was beating in the seconds leading up to him asking the question and the high pitch squeal that I let out once I realised he was for real!!”
Having met in high school in their hometown of Ballarat it was a no-brainer that Liana and Nath would return there to get married there.
“Nath and I were lucky enough to find out about a new venue that was under construction in Ballarat called, Willow & Stone Estate. A historic private residence in Ballarat which became our blank canvas. On inspection we were blown away by the natural beauty of the property despite being a complete construction site at the time,” explains Liana, who started her search for her bridal gown while 8 weeks pregnant.
“Wedding dress shopping was so much fun!! Georgia (of Georgia Young Couture) was amazing- I can’t speak highly enough of Georgia and my experience with her. She is extremely down to earth and personable. She would often sing to herself while pinning me in at each fitting – I loved that! So chilled and insanely talented,” says the bride, who adds that they stumbled upon their photographer, Beck Rocchi early on.
“I fell in love with her work on various wedding blogs and then followed her on Instagram. When I met with Beck she was able to recommend a few vendors that might suit our style and from there it all came together. Where possible we used vendors who were local to Ballarat as we wanted to showcase our hometown!”
