You may remember Lara and Cass’s wedding from Issue 11… How could you forget anyone who has nine cakes (plus a plate of chocolate brownies) on offer at their wedding?!
£Kashaya & Co created the most incredible dessert table complete with nine cakes that got completely demolished by the end of the evening it reminded me of a scene out of the Marie Antoinette movie and they all tasted DELICIOUS! says bride Lara – a wedding photographer who just so happens to be on a first name basis with industry legends like Dan O’Day and Brooke and Bree of Light Noise Films.
£I really did hire the best of the best in the industry so once I explained the look and feel we were after the rest just fell into place.
Being polar opposites, however, Cass and Lara knew it would take someone special (cue: Sheree of She Designs) to nail their complex brief.
£Cass is a lover of all things wild west and country western where I am a total romantic obsessed with all things lush, vintage and beautiful. Sheree merged our two loves together and created the most amazing opulent rustic affair.
Floral stylists Mikarla Bauer and Jardine Botanic also lent a helping hand, creating an abundance of beautiful bouquets, table arrangements and hanging installations, as well as a flower crown station for all their guests.
£? it was amazing walking down the aisle and seeing everyone with flowers in their hair including our beautiful celebrant Jessie? says Lara who, despite same sex marriage not being legally recognised in Australia (yet!) had Jessie conduct a meaningful, heartfelt ceremony in front of their closest friends and family.
£It rained the entire day of our wedding up until 30 minutes before the ceremony the rain cleared and we were surrounded by the most beautiful moody atmosphere it was just perfect.
Following the formalities, Lara changed from her custom embroidered gown by Corston Couture into something a little more suitable for playing tug of war and dancing.
£We both come from different religious backgrounds but we incorporated some fun Jewish dancing, which really set the tone for the evening we did this before entering the reception and it really loosened everyone up! We were being thrown up and down on chairs and tossed in the air and running around in circles and forming conga lines around the fire pit! It was a definite highlight.
