Living in Melbourne, Matt and Dan didn’t have many opportunities to check out the epic array of venues in good ol’ New Zealand. Having been to Opoutere a few times and well-aware of how magical it is, the two landed on Opoutere Forest and booked it before even seeing it!
“We wanted something that was more unique and reflected us, even though styling and organising everything ourselves a lot more work than just booking a venue it was worth it! We loved that we could stay there for a few days before and after the wedding but helped make a more festival vibe.”
Hoping to create a big party with all of their friends, lots of colour, beautiful wildflowers and “just a really positive, happy vibe”, Dan and Matt say that marriage to them is about working as a team, having fun together and sharing their passion for travel and food – which of course meant they went with a totally awesome caterer, Food Gurus.
“The caterers were amazing. They turned up, setup, served food, then cleaned up and left without any instruction from us. They were absolute ninjas,” the pair explains, adding that Coralee Stone Photography was standout as well.
“Coralee was amazing. We were both a bit nervous about getting photos done but she made the whole process relaxed and fun. A lot of the time we didn’t even notice she was there. ”
