Deciding that gumboots, hay bales and a traditional white wedding dress just wasn’t her jam, bride Brooke from issue seven was all about modern elegance’ instead. She tells us £All of our ideas emerged from my dress fabric. and with a show stopping gown like that we can understand why!
Designed by Sydney based couture designer, Steven Khalil, her breathtaking gown certainly pushed boundries in the world of bridal couture. Brooke tells us £I was looking for something a little different, something very individual. My mother and I had four very memorable trips to Sydney for fittings with Steven and his creative team. Their professionalism was second to none and made the creation of my dress a beautiful experience.
With help from florist Sandee from Always Fabulous Flowers, Brooke and Jasyn were able to carry the same level of glamour, sophistication and style through to their reception held at Rydges in Brisbane’s CBD. £Rydges rooftop function room provided a beautiful view of Southbank’s lights and city skyline at nightfall, topping off a perfect day! says Brooke who, going off a recommendation from a friend, organised legendary photographers Bek and Phil from Heart and Colour to capture every detail of their special day including their epic cake by Deliberately Delicious and vintage cars courtesy of A Golden Roller.
Brooke explains £Most of our suppliers were from friends recommendations and we had a great team which made everything run smoothly. And one last piece of advice for budding brides and grooms to-be? Brooke simply says £Don’t sweat the small stuff on the day, no one else will, simply enjoy every moment. The day goes so quickly!
