These two lovely creative humans sure do keep busy! Emily is an English teacher with a passion for books and doco’s whilst James is a musician and bartender with a penchant for acting, directing and writing. So, it’s no wonder that when their big day rolled around, a whole heap of love, imagination and extra special touches were incorporated throughout. All this goodness whipped up in just 11 months! We recommend preparing a hot beverage and settling down to enjoy the details and Nectarine Photography’s lovely captures below…
THE VIBE “Our inspiration was the golden tones and earthen hues of the seventies, Little House on the Prairie, music festivals, Bilbo Baggins’ birthday party in Lord of the Rings and the dance scene below deck between Rose and Jack on the Titanic. These references summed up for us how we wanted everything to look and feel: warm, unpretentious and full of love.”
FAVOURITE MOMENT “My [James] father’s speech. Dad has always been a man of few words but on this occasion, he really made me feel special and loved. He was clearly proud of us and this meant the world to me. He called Emily “the new Mrs T” which was a special nod to my late grandmother and I’m not ashamed to say it made me tear up.”
WE’RE GLAD WE.. “We’re really glad we asked friends and family to help with parts of our day because we can look back now and see pieces of our loved one’s personalities and gifts come through in everything from the food to the flowers. We’re also glad we took the time to shop around and stick to our budget, even though sometimes that meant things took longer or required more effort. Lastly, we were stoked that we chose a quality photographer and videographer – it was so worth the investment.”
WE WISH WE…. “One thing we wish we didn’t do was book our honeymoon flight for the very next morning. We almost missed it and getting on a plane hungover isn’t fun!”
STANDOUT VENDOR “We had a few standout vendors. Firstly, our wedding video, lovingly created by Jaxon Roberts Films, was phenomenal. Jaxon went above and beyond with everything he did and we can’t recommend him highly enough. Shak Shuka were also fabulous; the food was delicious, and nothing was too difficult. Mitchell Martin and his band played fantastic music throughout the night and really helped bring the party to life. Lastly, Nectarine Photography, her imagery speaks for itself – simply stunning.”
