On Monday we hosted our debut publishing workshop, a one day event where we got together with 15 up and coming photographers to chat all things story arcs, graphic design, art direction, submissions and print production. Topics not usually touched on in your standard photographic workshop.
Having the opportunity to hang with such a passionate and enthusiastic bunch of creatives for the day was so damn refreshing and of course the day would not of gone off with out a hitch if it wasn’t thanks to our event partners. The legends at Atkins Lab hooked all of our attendees up with seriously gorgeous framed photos of their work and the good folk from Audley Dancehall and Cafe hosted us for the day and kept us all extremely well fed (the food was amazing ya’ll – download their 2019 wedding package here).
We also had the lovely Dany from Pia and Jade come along for the day to take care of all things styling, stationery and florals! This talented event human is one of our go to’s for weddings held in Sydney, down the South Coast and everywhere in-between – and to think you can get your stylist, invitations and flowers checked off your to-do list in one go is our idea of heaven! Shauna from The Future Mrs came along for the hair and makeup ride (see more of their wedding work here and here) and did an amazing job of turning our gorgeous model Maddie into a bride for the afternoon. The stunning Temple by Bo and Luca gown from Sydney bridal boutique Hope X Page didn’t hurt either. And lastly big thanks to Rolan, Alyce, Joel, Amber, Eliza, Madeline, Ali, Alex, Charlotte, Kristie, Vlado, Blaise, Holly, Miko and Somer for coming along for the day and making the workshop what it was! Such a rad bunch of humans we were so damn chuffed to hang out with. Oh and Kevin from Sydney Mini Bus hire for getting us to and from the National Park safe and sound.
