The inspiration for Natalie and Sam’s day was simple. £A garden wedding with a big bridal party and relaxed look for all of our photography, says Nat who handpicked a team of exceptional vendors to pull off the whole shebang which first featured in our Real Wedding Special.
As small business owners (together they run a little coffee shop called Piccolo Espresso in Melbourne’s Prahran for anyone keen to stop by) it was especially important for Nat and Sam to find people who could understand and execute their vision without too much supervision. With that in mind they set about recruiting some top notch vendors like stationery designers Santiago Sunbird and musicians The White Tree to transform Stones of the Yarra Valley in Victoria into an enchanted, lively oasis that was everything Natalie had hoped for and then some.
Her stunning long sleeved bridal gown (a customised version of One Day Bridal‘s May’ gown) also turned out just as she’d imagined. £After months of searching online and in boutiques, Nat was overjoyed with the results. But long lace sleeves and soft Italian silk aside, it was the quiet moments Nat and Sam shared together that they say were the most memorable.
£After our ceremony the staff at Stones left us alone upstairs at the chapel for a few minutes. It was so special to be together and be able to share our excitement and love with one another. We just got married! We were able to look out of the chapel window and see all of our family and friends waiting outside for us to come out as husband and wife!
Later on, following their portraits with photographers Love Katie and Sarah and a few formalities (including the cutting of their incredible six tier wedding cake, made by an extremely talented family friend), Nat and Sam decided it was time to heat things up. £I’m Greek so we did a few traditional dances with all of our family, as well as the money pinning dance and lots of plate smashing! says Nat.
But the night had one more surprise in store as Nat goes on to explain £Sam is a drummer; we surprised our guests at the wedding when he and all of our groomsmen performed our favourite song! (Mr. Brightside by The Killers, if you’re wondering).
