Each and every pair of newlyweds has their own take on marriage, and Amy and Bronson (first seen in the Real Wedding Special) are no exception. Amy shares that it comes down to four very important things: £Family, friendship, a lifetime of adventures with the one I love…and checking the married’ box on my tax return! Undoubtedly a fun-loving couple with strong family ties, these guys opted for an ultra relaxed day on the bride’s parent’s property.
£We never really looked into other venues. I always knew I’d get married there, it was just so lovely to (literally) feel at home the whole day, the bride tells us, adding that they wanted to let the beautiful location define the aesthetic of their day.
£With its gorgeous olive grove, pomegranate orchard and fully functioning vegetable garden, the day felt very farm to table’ with a twist of Mediterranean. We were heavily influenced by our travels overseas and incorporated our favourite elements e.g. sitting down at long tables of Spanish tapas, sipping on Italian aperol spritzers in the sun and the scent of Moroccan orange blossom in the air.
Admitting the table setup was her favourite detail from the day, Amy says the day was all about relaxed vibes, family-style food sharing, good conversation and even better wine. £It just conveyed the look and feeling we were going for perfectly. Many of our friends commented that they felt like they were actually sitting in the Italian countryside!
With the talented photographer, Oli of Briars Atlas and cinematographer Nathan Kaso Weddings there to capture their day, the couple couldn’t be happier with the gorgeous shots, Amy adding, “special mentions to Nathan Kaso for putting his body on the line on the D-floor in order to capture some great footage!”
Along with their intimate and elegant day also came quite a bit of DIY, including floral chandeliers, table runners, the ceremony backdrop, signage and heaps more. Keeping with the making things from scratch’ theme, Amy decided to get her dress made after trying on 20+ gowns and still not having that £holy shit this is the one’ moment. That’s where dressmaker Yulia Mc Couture comes in.
£Turns out meeting Yulia was my the one’ moment. She was so lovely and welcoming and helpful. She knew her stuff, but at the same time was so down to earth. She patiently sat and listened to what I wanted, drew it up, gave me her professional opinion on what will work and then when I told her the date of my wedding (now thinking it was very last minute) she said no problem, that’s plenty of time’! I’m convinced she is an angel disguised as a dressmaker!
