There’s a number of ways to measure whether your partner is indeed your soulmate – zodiac signs, online quizzes – but for Nancy and Ryan it was their capacity to read each other’s mind that signalled their compatibility. “Once Ryan and I got ready for photos after the ceremony, there’s a moment on the balcony where we both told each other ‘I did a tequila shot before I walked down the aisle’… this was in unison, we had both done this without each other knowing until that moment,” says Nancy of the confession Danelle Bohane caught on camera.
As beautiful as New Zealand is year-round, this couple had their minds set on an autumn wedding, inspired by classic elegance topped with intimate, cosy details and stunning florals by The Flower Gallery. “In regards to the venue, our criteria was that it needed to be a comfortable, warming and beautiful destination and when we visited Mudbrick we knew instantly that it was perfect.”
Never at a loss for great fashion, Nancy’s bridesmaids rocked navy lace Juliette Hogan dresses while the bride herself had not one – but two – outfits to grace her guests with. From a Rue De Seine gown and hand-beaded veil to a Ruby NZ tuxedo blazer and Country Road pant, Nancy found the overall experience quite easy because she knew the exact image she wanted to portray. “Strong and feminine with an unconventional twist.”
