Weddings by Jordy

Hi, I’m Jordy! Photographer, Content Creator, and a firm believer that the best parts of a wedding day are often the moments nobody planned.

I’m drawn to weddings with personality. Think beautiful old buildings, city elopements, thoughtful details, fashion-forward couples and a dance floor that gets a little out of hand. My approach is candid, with an editorial eye and a soft spot for film. Above all, I capture what it feels like to be there. I capture what it feels like to be there. I love the big, emotional moments just as much as the in-between ones: your mum fixing your dress, your friends losing it during the speeches, and the split-second moments you might have missed entirely.

Photography and content creation are two different ways of telling the same story. Through photography, I’m creating images you’ll come back to for years. I like to think of them as family heirlooms. With content creation, I’m capturing the behind-the-scenes and all the little moments you’ll want to relive in the days after your wedding. Think of me as an extra set of eyes (or a very enthusiastic wedding guest).

My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable being yourselves. I’m not here to turn your wedding into a photoshoot or ask you to recreate moments for the camera. I’ll offer a little direction when you need it, but otherwise happily blend in when you don’t.
Whether you’re planning an intimate city elopement or a big celebration, I’m here for it all.

FAQ

Do you shoot Film or Digital?

My galleries are mostly digital images, but I also bring my collection of film cameras to sprinkle some film throughout the gallery. We can chat about this before your day so you can tell me your preferences. We can always include more film!
If you’re booking me for content creation, you can expect iPhone, camcorder and a sprinkle of 35mm film.

Do you provide both Content Creation and Photography on the same day?

No. I’m a one-woman show and at this stage I only have enough hands to offer one or the other.

How much do you charge?

Photography starts at $3,000 & Content Creation starts at $450

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes! I love to travel for weddings. If you’re getting married within 50 km of Rosebud, Victoria, there are no travel fees. If your wedding is a little further away, I can offer a personalised travel quote.

How do we receive our photos/content?

I deliver everything via Pic-Time, an online gallery where you can download your images in the highest quality. You can also share them with friends and family, or order prints and albums.

What's your best piece of advice?

Don’t plan a photoshoot, plan a celebration. Think about how you want the day to feel. Allow yourself to dream about your ideal day. Then plan that. I promise you the photos will shine if you’re truly having a great time.

How do you make people feel comfortable in front of the camera?

I encourage you to be yourself. I approach a wedding as a significant event in your life, and I’m lucky enough to be there to create some tangible keepsakes for you. I’m not there to direct a huge photoshoot or make you feel pressured into posing or looking a certain way. It’s about being present and feeling the love all around you. There’s no pressure or judgement on my end.

How do you handle bad weather?

Plan and prepare. My hope is that your planner or venue has created a wet weather option in case your day doesn’t bring the weather you’d hoped for. We can chat about this plan before the wedding to make the most of the photo opportunities. Bad weather doesn’t worry me, though. Some of the best days come with a little rain!

What's one thing couples often forget to plan for?

Someone to assist in coordinating the day. I’ve found that without a timekeeper (a wedding planner or coordinator), couples can rely heavily on their vendors to remind them of timelines and keep the day flowing. Unfortunately, this takes vendors away from the job they’ve been hired to do. It’s best to assign someone whose designated role is to make sure the day runs smoothly. You want your photographer, videographer or content creator focused on you, not coordinating your guests and looking for Uncle Pete who’s disappeared from family photos.

How long have you been doing this?

A long, long time. I’m actually 100 years old. Not really, I’m 30 (so 100) and I photographed my first wedding at 19.
