Jay Chubby Wedding – JCW

Jay Chubby Wedding – JCW

Your Day. Your Story.

I’m Jay, founder of JCW, a wedding photography and film studio based in Melbourne and Adelaide, working Australia-wide and beyond.

My background is in cinema, advertising and visual storytelling. Weddings gave me something I loved: real people, nerves before the ceremony, a hand held a little too tight, a speech that goes off script. Stories too personal to write in advance.

You don’t need to speak the language of photography or filmmaking to have a say in your story. Tell me what you love, what makes you comfortable and what would never feel like you. We’ll shape it together.

I started JCW to give couples real choices. The hours, the team, the style, the budget. I’ll tell you honestly where I’d put the effort and what you might not need. Whatever you choose, the care stays the same.

Whether it’s me behind the camera or someone from my team, I stand behind what we deliver. Quality should have a standard. Your story shouldn’t have a template.

Build your quote with clear pricing. Your couple portal keeps your plans, paperwork and gallery in one place.

Your wedding photography and film hold the people you love most. All editing happens in-house in Australia. We don’t send your images overseas for editing and your gallery is password protected.

Years from now, I want you to look back and recognise yourselves. How you looked at each other. What it felt like to be there.

If you’re happy, I’m happy too.

With love,

Jay

FAQ

Can we book wedding photography and videography together or separately in Melbourne and Adelaide?

Yes. You can book wedding photography and videography together or separately with Jay Chubby Wedding. We’re based in Melbourne and Adelaide and work Australia-wide and beyond. Choose photography only, a wedding film or both, with coverage hours and team size shaped around your plans. Share your wedding date, venue and the moments you want covered so we can discuss availability and travel arrangements. A combined booking brings both services into the same planning process. If you’re deciding between options, I’ll help you work out what matters most, whether that’s photographs to print or a film that brings back movement and sound.

Can we customise our wedding photography and videography package, and how is it priced?

Yes. Our wedding photography and videography packages are built around the hours of coverage, team size and services you choose. Your wedding location also helps us work out any travel arrangements. Use our online quote builder to explore options and see clear pricing as you go. If you’re unsure how much coverage you need, tell me about your ceremony, reception and priorities. I’ll explain where I’d put the effort and what you might not need. You can choose photography, a wedding film or both without being pushed into the largest package. What you choose changes the scope. It doesn’t change the care.

Is your wedding photography style candid, editorial or cinematic?

My approach combines candid wedding photography, editorial portraits and a cinematic eye for light, movement and atmosphere. That can mean noticing a quiet exchange during the ceremony or offering a little direction for a portrait. We discuss your preferences before the day, including images you love and anything that feels unlike you. Some couples enjoy time for portraits; others want more space with their guests. We’ll work out that balance together. My background in cinema informs the way I see, but your taste matters throughout. The aim is a thoughtful collection that feels like your wedding and the people in it.

Who edits our wedding photos and films, and how do you protect our privacy?

All wedding photo editing and film post-production happens in-house at JCW, here in Australia. We don’t send your photographs or films overseas for editing or outsource that work to external editors or production companies. Keeping post-production with our own team helps us control the finish and who accesses your images during editing. Your online photo gallery is password protected, so you can choose who receives access. Your images include children, family, friends and personal moments. Looking after that material is part of our responsibility, from handling it during editing to providing a protected gallery for delivery.

We're camera-shy. How will you help us feel comfortable in our wedding photos and film?

You don’t need to know how to pose or feel confident in front of a camera. Before your wedding, we’ll talk about what helps you relax, the photographs you like and anything you’d rather avoid. On the day, we’ll offer simple guidance when it’s useful and give you room to be together. A walk, a conversation or a shared laugh can be a starting point. You can tell us if something feels awkward; that feedback helps us adjust. We’ll discuss how much direction you’d like during your creative planning call. My aim is for you to enjoy your wedding and recognise yourselves in the photos and film afterwards.

How do we book our wedding photography and videography with JCW?

Start by building your wedding photography or videography quote on our website, or get in touch with your date, venue and the coverage you’re considering. We’ll check availability and discuss your options so you understand the services and price before deciding. Your couple portal keeps the practical details together, including your quote, contract, invoices and meetings. It’s also where you can share creative preferences as we prepare for the day. If you’re unsure about hours, team size or combining photo and video, I’ll help you work through those choices. You should know what you’re booking and what happens next.

Will Jay photograph or film our wedding personally?

Your wedding may be photographed or filmed by me or another member of the JCW team. I work with photographers and filmmakers who bring their own experience and creative eye while sharing our approach to preparation, communication and caring for couples. I lead JCW’s creative direction and stand behind the work we deliver. Our planning process gives us a place to understand your preferences, priorities and the feel you want for your day. That shared approach helps us maintain a consistent standard, whoever is behind the camera.

Can we expect the same quality from your wedding photography and videography?

Yes. I understand why couples ask: you might love a studio’s wedding photography but feel less sure about its films, or the other way around. My background spans both photography and filmmaking, so I bring experience in each to JCW’s creative direction. We give both the same attention through planning, shooting and our in-house post-production. Explore our photo galleries and wedding films side by side to see how we approach light, atmosphere and storytelling in each. They are different ways of remembering the day, with a shared standard of care. You should feel confident booking either service or both together.

How long will it take to receive our wedding photos and film?

Your first sneak peeks arrive within 48 hours of your wedding. We deliver your full wedding photo gallery within 3 weeks and your wedding film within 5 weeks. If you’ve booked photography and videography together, you can enjoy your photographs while we finish your film. All photo editing and film post-production happens in-house at JCW, here in Australia, keeping the work with our own team from the shoot through to delivery. Your online photo gallery is password protected and accessible through your couple portal. The early preview gives you a first look while the memories are fresh, followed by the complete collection.

How do we plan the creative approach for our wedding photos and film?

Before our creative planning call, we send you questions about your wedding day, your preferences and the people or moments that matter most. The questionnaire includes spaces for Pinterest boards and other sources of inspiration. We review your answers and references beforehand, then prepare a presentation specifically for you. During the call, we use it to walk through your day together and discuss the photography and film approach. We can explore the light, mood or style you like, how much direction feels comfortable and your priorities. Your ideas help shape the plan, with room for the unexpected moments that make the day yours.
