My name is Asha, and I’m a wedding and elopement photographer based in Braidwood, NSW.

My work is often described as moody, artful and genuine. I have a deep love for capturing the in-between moments that are so easily missed, and I can blend into a crowd like a chameleon, creating candid imagery that feels honest, natural and completely real.

I bring a calm, easy-going energy to wedding days, and my aim is always to give you beautiful, meaningful photographs with as little stress as possible. I’m a mum of four, and I stay active and strong so I can keep up with whatever your wedding day throws at me. That might be anything from the quiet, emotional moments to the full dancefloor chaos.

My partner comes along as my assistant and, honestly, he’s the best. He brings another level of calm, steady energy that’s pretty unmatched and he’s even been known to save the odd wedding day!

Living in Braidwood has given me the opportunity to explore other parts of the wedding industry that naturally align with my aesthetic. I’m also a flower grower, offering fresh flowers and floral design to my photography clients – hello, sustainable floristry!

Alongside photography and flowers, I’ve teamed up with other local Braidwood vendors to create all-inclusive elopement packages. Braidwood has become quite the wedding destination in recent years, and I’m absolutely here for it! While Braidwood has my heart, I regularly travel to Canberra and the South Coast, which I absolutely love.

FAQ

Do you travel for weddings?

Absolutely! Whilst Braidwood is home, I regularly photograph weddings and elopements in Canberra, the South Coast and beyond. We often frequent the Newcastle region as we have family there. I am totally happy to travel anywhere.

Do you photograph elopements?

Yes! Elopements are a big part of what I do and I’ve teamed up with some wonderful local Braidwood vendors to create all inclusive elopement packages incorporating photography, flowers, celebrant, venue and even wedding bands.

How long will it take to receive our wedding photos?

Sneak peeks on the day of or morning after. I’ll even give you a few Polaroids on the night! 2-4 weeks for full gallery delivery

Do you cater to the LGBTIQA community?

Love is love! Everyone deserves to feel completely comfortable, safe and celebrated in front of my camera. I’m proud to photograph LGBTQIA couples and create space where you can show up exactly as you are, without judgement. Your wedding is about the two of you, and I’m here to tell your story in a way that feels authentic to you.

How do you photograph a wedding day?

I’m there to photograph the whole story not just the big moments. I’ll capture the quiet in between moments. The people, the atmosphere, the chaos and all the little things. You probably won’t notice until you look back on your photos. I’ll give you gentle direction when it’s helpful particularly during portraits but I’m not going to take over your day or manufacture moments that aren’t there. I want to spend your wedding day being completely present while quietly documenting it as it unfolds.

How far in advance should we book?

For all inclusive elopements and weddings, I would inquire about 1 year before your date, to ensure all of us are available. For photography packages in peak seasons (spring and autumn) I would enquire 8-12 months before your chosen date, especially if it’s a Saturday. Weekdays and off peak times you can get away with leaving it a lot sooner before your date, 2-6 months.

Do you help with timelines?

I can do, but only from a photographers perspective. I always recommend hiring a coordinator to get the best from your day.

How much direction do you give on the day?

I’ll guide you when you need it but I’m not here to choreograph every moment. I’ll give you enough direction to feel comfortable and confident especially during portraits then step back and let things unfold naturally, documentary style. I want your photographs to feel like you, not a collection of perfectly posed moments that could belong to anyone.
