Hi, I’m Abbey! I’m a Sunshine Coast wedding celebrant, professional love story author and proud collector of goose bumps.

I’m not here to make you stand awkwardly while I read a generic script about “two souls becoming one”,
leaving you to simply endure your ceremony rather than actually feel it.

As your wedding celebrant, I’m here to tell your story, make your guests laugh, no doubt make someone cry, and create a ceremony that feels effortless, personal and completely unforgettable.

I love the little details. The weird first-date stories, the inside jokes nobody else understands,
the moment you both realised “oh… this is my person” and all the tiny things that make your relationship yours.

Because your ceremony isn’t about ticking boxes.
It’s about creating a moment where everyone looking at you thinks, “Yep. That is SO them.”
Every ceremony I create is shared by someone who’s taken the time to truly know you (that’s me!).

FAQ

What advice would you give couples planning their ceremony?

Don’t plan the ceremony you think you’re supposed to have. Plan the one you actually want.

You don’t have to include traditions that don’t mean anything to you. You don’t have to have a ceremony that feels overly formal if that’s just not who you are. Think about what matters to you both.

Do you want your guests laughing? Do you want to honour someone special? Do you want your dog involved? (In my professional and personal opinion, the answer is always YES. Please bring the dog.)

Your wedding should feel like an extension of your relationship, not a performance. The best ceremonies aren’t the ones that follow every rule. They’re the ones where you forget you’re even having a “ceremony” and simply get to stand there, be yourselves, feel your feels and marry your favourite person.

What is something couples don’t realise about choosing a celebrant?

Your celebrant sets the tone for your entire day.

We are the first person standing in front of all your favourite people, which means our energy matters.

You want someone who makes you feel comfortable, someone you trust with your story and someone who can be your calm in the chaos if the nerves kick in.

Also… choose someone you actually like hanging out with. You’re going to spend a lot of time with us!

If your celebrant style was a cocktail, what would it be?

A Spicy Margarita drowning in an aggressively over-applied rim of honey.

At first glance, I’m a fun, relaxed gal with a knack for making everyone giggle. But boy, do I have you fooled. A 30-second conversation with me will reveal I’m hopelessly, unapologetically mushy about love. My friends call me emotionally al dente

I live for the shaky-voice vows, the “I knew from that moment” stories, the forehead kisses when nobody thinks anyone is watching and the declarations of love that make couples forget there’s a crowd and leave guests reaching for tissues.

So yes, there’s a little spice. But underneath it all? I’m just a big old ball of goo who will happily get emotional over two people choosing each other forever.

What’s one wedding tradition you’d happily skip?

Anything that makes a couple feel awkward just because it’s “traditional”. If you hate being the centre of attention, you do not need to stand there while 100 people watch you do something that makes you want to disappear into a hedge.

What’s one thing couples worry about that they don’t need to?

Being “too cheesy”.
I’m sorry, but you are literally standing in front of your favourite people promising forever. This is the one day where being ridiculously in love is not only acceptable, it’s encouraged. Lean into it. Be cringe. Be obsessed with each other. We love to see it.

What’s your celebrant superpower?

Making people who tell me “we’re not really emotional people” end up crying during their ceremony. (Sorry. But also… you’re welcome.)
