For someone who had never thought much about marriage, Jasmine did an impressive job of organising their day. “Being a bride was something I’d never imagined as a little girl (or a big one)”, says Jasmine. “We both wanted an outdoor ceremony, small guest list consisting of people we know. David wanted a sit down dinner and I wanted fairy lights. This created the basis of our wedding day.”
Once they’d recruited photographer Teneil Kable and found River Blossoms Florist, it was all systems go. Held at the picturesque Cullen Wines in Western Australia, the site of their very first lunch date, they created their ultimate dinner party – 54 guests, fabulous wine and an assortment of gluten free desserts. As the brains behind The Gluten Free Scallywag, for Jasmine wholesome foods were essential. “We took great joy in deciding on the nitty gritty details over many a wine but I think the homemade cakes for dessert and the peanut butter cookies as bonbonniere were the best received.”
Surrounded by lush green forests and dressed in matching green gumboots, Jasmine recalls her favourite part of their day being when she got to board The Chauffeur Bus and accompany their guests to their surprise location. “We surprised everyone, except my sister and her husband, who were in on it”, says David.
