The Lamont family’s philosophy centres around the most basic tenet of enjoying exceptional food and wine, together with your nearest and dearest. And while we’re on the subject of fantastic food and wine, Kate Lamont and Nathan Le have been managing our award-winning kitchens for over two decades across our state. With love, passion and consideration, they marry fresh, seasonal and local produce, traditional methods and new techniques to create elegant, harmonious and uncomplicated dishes that sing with flavour.
We pride ourselves on our service, focusing on making your event and experiences with us comfortable, warm, inviting and as stress- and worry-free as possible. Our staff are trained professionals, helpful and eager to assist, making every experience you have with us an amazing one. Bishop’s House is also a spectacular event space; with options to suit events from 10 right up to 200 guests, and packages that can be tailored to you and your love story, the possibilities are endless. We LOVE food! what are our options and choices?
We LOVE food too, and it shows in our seasonal menus that change throughout the year. Our wedding menus can all be tailored to suit your specific needs – perhaps a late-night snack or an extra choice for the main course. Speaking of which, it is a choice menu and we will collect orders from your guests at the table. We have been cooking in Perth and its regional areas for over 50 years and definitely know how to please a crowd. You will also be invited to a menu tasting night to sample all our menu items, where we’ll chat about the dishes and how they can be tweaked to suit your palate.
What about wines, what can we choose from?
Lamont’s prides itself on our wines and what we can offer. We started as a boutique Swan Valley winery 50 years ago and have a strong connection to the wine industry here in WA, spanning four generations. One of our other Perth venues is a popular wine store with over 2,000 wines to select from, sourced from across the country and around the globe. We will offer a wide range of wines to sample at your menu tasting so you can select what best suits your wedding reception, and we’ll happily help with special requests – including sourcing that special beer for the groom!
Can we book our own preferred vendors?
YES! We want our couples to have complete freedom to create the wedding of their dreams. We have been fortunate to work with some of the best wedding industry folk here at Lamont’s and are more than happy to offer suggestions. Some of our couples manage the planning process themselves and book all their own vendors, while others employ professional coordinators. We will help and provide support and assistance in all scenarios.
How many guests can Lamont's Bishops House accomodate?
We have many different weddings at our venue ranging in size from 10 of your nearest and dearest to 200 for an epic event outdoors. Our indoor rooms are small enough for events starting at 15 people and reaching 40 for seated dining, or we can accommodate up to 75 for a delightful cocktail reception in front of our fire places with balcony access overlooking our stunning heritage gardens. Dining in our garden areas is quite varied, depending on the time of year. the rose garden can fit up to 80 seated comfortably with a dance floor, or up to 150 for a cocktail wedding under the stars. The lower paved area provides more scope with space for a marquee and a rolling lawn area as area well. Dining for 100 – 140 comfortably in a marquee, or cocktail events for up to 200 spilling onto the lawn
Can we hold both our wedding ceremony and reception at Lamont's Bishop's House?
YES! we love to promote the venue as a one-stop-shop scenario. you can have your ceremony in our gardens, then leave guests on the lawn for drinks & canapes while you sneak away for romantic photos in our gardens or within walking distance. There are beautiful options for photos around our property without having to hop in a car and go for a drive, most of our couples love this & it certainly takes some of pressure off the afternoon so you aren’t running around & you get to spend more time with friends and family.
I do have more traditional couples that have their ceremony at their family church or local cathederal, you are more than welcome to Book Lamont’s purely for the reception, you will be resering the whole venue to yourself for the whole day and won’t be sharing with other events
Is Lamont's Bishops House close to public transport and accomodation?
Lamont’s Bishops House is basically in the heart of the CBD, within walking distance of the cental arteries of the City. it is certainly a unique location hidden from the world behind tremendous gardens, but a delight for those who know us!
There is easy access for buses and trains and ample drop-off spots for taxis, ubers and other rides shares. We have multipe paid carpark options around the property as well, and free street parking on Sundays in the Perth CBD.
The accomodation options are endless, and most within walking distance. This is ceretainly an advantage being in the CBD, it’s so convenient for travelling guests. Premium hotel chains, stunning small boutique hotels, serviced apartment complexes, even a few AirBnB options nestled around Kings Park
