Hey, I’m Dave, a Hobart wedding and elopement photographer capturing analogue and digital love stories in a candid and authentic way!

I’ve had a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember, documenting more than 15 years of memories along the way. What started as a passion has grown into a career I genuinely love, photographing weddings and elopements around Australia and throughout Europe. I’ve been blessed to be the ultimate third wheel, capturing so many beautiful couples on their special day.

Before photography, I worked as an intensive care nurse, a path that helped shape how I connect with people today. It taught me that trust and comfort are everything. When you feel at ease, the real moments happen, and that’s where the magic is. My role isn’t just to take photos. It’s also to create a space where you can be fully present, knowing every meaningful moment is being captured.

My style blends timeless, elegant portraiture with candid, documentary storytelling. I’ll gently guide you when needed, but I’m equally focused on the in-between moments: the laughter, the quiet glances and the emotion you didn’t even realise was unfolding. That is where I truly believe the most incredible images are documented.

From beautifully curated celebrations to intimate elopements, I approach each wedding with a focus on timeless elegance. No matter the setting, I create imagery that feels classic, considered, and deeply personal.

FAQ

Where are you based? Do you travel Australia-wide or internationally?

I’m based in beautiful Hobart, Tasmania, but I’m always happy to pack my bags and cameras for a great celebration!

I travel Australia-wide and internationally for weddings and elopements. Whether you’re celebrating here in Tassie, somewhere interstate or on the other side of the world, I’d love to be there to capture it.

Great people, beautiful places and a wedding worth travelling for, count me in!

How would you describe your approach to photographing a wedding?

For me, it’s about finding the balance between beautifully considered imagery and letting a wedding actually feel like a wedding.

I’ll step in with direction when it’s needed. But I’m equally happy disappearing into the background and letting the good stuff unfold naturally. I’m always looking for the big moments, the quiet ones and all the little interactions happening in between.

Ultimately, I want you to look back at your photographs and remember not just how your day looked, but exactly how it felt.

What do you want couples to feel when they look back at their photographs?

I want the photographs to take you straight back there.

Not just to how everything looked, but to the people, the energy, the nerves, the ridiculous laughs and those little moments you didn’t even know I captured.

Beautiful photographs are important, but the real value comes years down the track. They become a reminder of the people you love and one of the best days you shared together.

What inspires you most about photographing weddings?

Honestly, it’s the people. Every wedding brings together a completely different group of personalities, relationships and stories. That’s what keeps me inspired.

I love the beautiful locations and all the considered details, but it’s usually the unexpected moments that become my favourites. The reactions, the hugs, the questionable dance moves and everything in between. Those are the photographs that really tell the story.

What kind of couples do you love working with?

The couples I connect with most are those who want their wedding to feel like them. They care about beautiful details and great photographs, but they’re equally excited about being present, having a laugh and celebrating with their favourite people.

You don’t need to be comfortable in front of a camera, most people aren’t! Just come ready to enjoy your day, trust the process and I’ll take care of the rest.
