Ella and Josh recently tied the knot in the heart of Melbourne after six glorious years together and an 18 month long engagement. Of course there to capture all the love and good times was Melbourne photographer Lucy from She Takes Pictures He Makes Films as Ella tells us “Our photographer Lucy is so talented and passionate about what she does.” and judging by these gorgeous photos we could not agree with the bride more.
Collingwood Children’s Farm was an easy choice of venue as Ella goes on to explain “We only looked at one other venue before falling in love with the relaxed and intimate vibe of The Farm Cafe at Collingwood Children’s Farm. It was really important for us to choose a location that was easy for our guests to get to since most were travelling from interstate. The Farm was ideal because it’s essentially a patch of countryside only 4kms from Melbourne CBD. Plus, the allure of abundant food, bar service during the ceremony and having the freedom to curate our own drinks menu were all huge venue draw cards”.
Moving on to that stunning non bridal bridal gown from Edit Ella tells us “I knew from the outset that I didn’t want a traditional dress (or wedding for that matter) so my search didn’t extend far beyond a handful of non-bridal boutiques and online stores. With about three months to go, Josh was casually browsing online and found a modern and minimal dress by Hong Kong label, Edit. It was a bit of a gamble to buy online but when it arrived I knew it was the one. I took it to the gorgeous and talented Aggie from My Perfect Fit in Brunswick for alterations and she made my off-the-shelf dress look a million bucks”.
Which leads Ella and Josh to a solid piece of advice for couples planning a wedding “Do everything your own way, at your own pace, and don’t let anyone else influence you otherwise”.
