Saltbox is located in Wunderlich Lane, where Redfern meets Surry Hills. We’re close to the Sydney CBD, approximately 450 metres from the Surry Hills Light Rail stop, with buses, parking and rideshare access nearby. The EVE Hotel is right next door, making it easy for couples and guests who would like to stay nearby before or after the wedding.

Saltbox can accommodate celebrations of many sizes, from intimate weddings to larger receptions. For example, our full venue can host up to 200 guests seated with a dance floor, or 450 guests cocktail-style, depending on your chosen layout. With three adaptable, light-filled rooms and an all-weather terrace, the venue can be shaped around everything from an intimate long lunch to a packed dance floor.

Yes, you can host your ceremony and reception at Saltbox. Plus, keeping everything in one location means less travel, fewer logistics and more time celebrating with your guests. While you’re signing the register or taking photos, guests can move into drinks and canapés before the reception begins. Our team will work with you to plan the layout, timings and transitions so the day flows naturally from “I do” to the dance floor.

That might mean a cocktail reception with roaming canapés, an intimate wedding lunch, a long-table feast or a seated multi-course dinner. Our team will help shape the menu, drinks, spaces and service around your guest numbers, wedding style and priorities.

Yes. Saltbox has beautiful indoor event spaces and a spacious all-weather terrace, so your wedding doesn’t rely on perfect weather. Plus, the covered terrace includes heating and ceiling fans and can be used for arrivals, drinks and canapés throughout the year. Our team can plan the flow across the venue, giving you a considered wet-weather option from the outset.

Absolutely. We offer generous cocktail and seated menus, with options to add more personal touches to your celebration. For example, our menus clearly identify vegetarian, vegan, gluten-containing and milk-containing dishes, while other dietary requirements can be discussed with your Event Manager. Whether you choose abundant canapés or a seated wedding feast, our team will help create a menu that feels considered and distinctly yours.

Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring in your own wedding suppliers and creative partners. We can also introduce you to our carefully curated network of talented wedding professionals, covering everything from beautiful cakes and florals to styling and entertainment. The choice is entirely yours – you’re not restricted to using our preferred partners. Our Event Managers will help coordinate access, setup and venue requirements along the way.

Yes. Saltbox is fully accessible, with secure undercover parking, nearby public transport and an Uber and rideshare drop-off point on Baptist Street. Direct access from the car park can also be organised with your Event Manager, although additional fees may apply. The Surry Hills Light Rail stop is approximately 450 metres away, while The EVE Hotel next door provides convenient accommodation for couples and guests.
