Loz and Mitch scheduled their wedding portraits about a month before they said ‘I do’. A fun way to stretch the celebrations, it meant the pair didn’t need to skip out on cocktail hour to have photos taken on the big day – genius!

Below, the duo dish on DIYs, their playful wedding lewks, and how they successfully split the day into an intimate, 32-guest ceremony followed by a larger-scale reception.
THE VENUE
“We had a list of places we wanted to try for dinner, Noisy Ritual was the third place we went to, and it just felt cosy and welcoming. Two things we cared most about were delicious food and a beautiful space. It was important to us that the space felt comfortable and that there was the ability to sit and have a conversation, even if a dance floor was in the space, and Noisy Ritual’s layout allowed that.”
DIY
“A lot of our wedding was DIY, from our place cards, menus, seating layout and welcome sign, floral arrangements (including painting of jars), cake stand and the backdrop behind us during our ceremony. Mitch even made the cake stand, including the charred and waxed finish.”
BRIDAL LOOK
“I wanted to wear colour, I didn’t mind if it was a dress or pants and a blazer. I found Versify through social media, found the blue blazer and pants and loved them. A couple of months later, they were closing down, and everything was on sale, so I decided to buy them as a ‘just in case’, as our wedding was still months away. Once the set arrived, I didn’t want to wear anything else. It was comfortable, colourful and cute.”
THE SUIT
“I came across Reigner on social media. I really liked the style of their suits, especially the wide lapels and throwback style of their suit design. My suit was made and tailored to size using one of their designs. It took about three months to make, and I was happy with the final look.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT
“The general ceremony was lovely. We only had 30 people from our immediate family and friends, so it was intimate and personal. It was also lovely when all our other guests arrived for dinner. There was something wonderful about the second group arriving that gave an injection of energy to the quieter and intimate moments before. It was a perfect way to do the day for us.”
WE’RE GLAD WE
“We did our portrait shoot in the month before our wedding. It allowed us to get some beautiful Autumn day photos, but it meant that on our wedding day, we didn’t leave for the photoshoot. We could spend the whole time with our family and friends. We are also really glad we got an audio guestbook (Off The Hook), as there is joy [in] listening back to the voice messages that everyone left for us. It documented the evening, from the first drink to the last round.”

Noisy Ritual staff/venue were amazing, and everyone there was so fantastic. We love going for dinner there, and having our wedding there was perfect.”
