Binh and Steve’s pastel garden party was a certified delight. In the countdown to Mr and Mrs, this pair of almost five years maintained their oh-so-chill outward demeanour. But, on the inside, they couldn’t help but fret about the predicted 40-degree forecast. Mission ‘collect every cooling mechanism you can think of’ was a go until the big day itself arrived bringing what else… but rain! “Who could have guessed it? Luckily, the parasols doubled as umbrellas, and it cooled everything right down before the reception kicked off.”
But nothing was going to dampen this gorg day with 150 of their nearest and dearest, which was soundtracked by our friends Him & Her Music and immortalised by the one and only Taylor Kezia on photos. In M.J. Bale, the groom was looking hella classy, as was his wifey, who rocked not one but two bespoke frocks and Meggan Morimoto heels – forever some of our faves. Get ready to fall in love all over again – it’s all below…
THE VIBE “A pastel garden wedding describes the theme perfectly! We also loved the idea of having an outdoor reception but wanted to make sure the space was functional to allow mingling. We had the dance floor surrounded by the wrapped bar, photobooth, gelato and coffee carts, and it worked quite well.”
THE DRESS “I knew I wanted a Greta Kate dress before I even got engaged. I had seen her beautiful work all over my feed, so it was a dream to work with Greta on not only one but two incredible dresses. The design for the first dress came together very naturally. Greta brought it to life from my vague inspiration, a beautiful off-the-shoulder A-line dress that I absolutely adore. I wanted [the second dress] to be more delicate and loved the elegance of a drop waist, tea-length style.”
THE SUIT “Steve and his groomsmen wore M.J. Bale. He couldn’t decide between the black and beige tux, so naturally opted for both since he realised I was also having an outfit change for the reception!”
TALK ABOUT TRADITION “We are both of Vietnamese background, so we held the traditional tea ceremony the day prior and celebrated with both of our families, many of whom travelled from interstate. We were very fortunate to have Steve’s grandparents, [who were] well enough to travel and celebrate with us. My grandmother sadly passed a month before the wedding, so we had a moment of remembrance during the ceremony.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographer, Taylor Kezia, and videographer, Jessie from The Film Room, brought such amazing energy to our day. We are absolutely obsessed with them, and we couldn’t have asked for a better duo to capture our day.”
Standing ovation as always for the uber-talented Taylor Kezia. Click here to hit her up about capturing your special day. Or get around Him & Her Music to guarantee the vibes are *chef’s kiss*.
